her side.
“I finally listened to her side without trying to answer it.”
For a long time, this website was my side — my memories, my unsaid things, my way of processing what happened. I didn’t make it to prove I was right. I made it because I didn’t know where else to put what I was feeling.
But at some point, I stopped rehearsing what I wanted to say, and I actually listened to what she said.
She told me she believes I genuinely cared about her. She believes my feelings were real. Not performed, not pretend — real.
She understands I had insecurities that got loud sometimes. Trauma I hadn’t worked through yet. Problems I didn’t know how to carry without letting them spill onto us.
She understands the websites. The prayers. The bucket list. The small things I wanted to do with her — not as grand gestures, but as quiet ways of saying “I’m thinking of a future with you in it.”
She never called any of that fake.
But she also told me something I needed to hear: intentions don’t erase the way actions make someone feel. A good intention, held too tightly or expressed at the wrong time, can still leave someone hurting.
What she needed wasn’t a perfect version of me later. She needed to be treated properly while we were actually together — in the ordinary days, not just in the explanations after.
She told me she would have supported me. Listened. Given her all. She didn’t need me to become perfect first. She just needed me to be present, consistent, and kind while we were in it.
This part of the website is not me defending myself. It’s me trying to hold her perspective with the same care I gave my own.
“I heard you. Not to reply — just to understand.”
her side — held with the same respect as mine
